Wayne Alday
Born blind in Florida 1953, Wayne Alday grew up loving music. He attended the Alabama School for the Blind in Talladega Alabama and eventually settled in Savannah, Georgia with family.
In 1975 he received his first guitar from his Aunt Betty. It was a 6 string Harmony from Sears Immediately, he began learning every song by the great Hank Williams. Eventually, his song book included classic country, gospel and bluegrass music. He taught himself guitar, mandolin and is currently learning the fiddle.
In 2003 and 2004 he performed at the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended many bluegrass and music festivals in Georgia. In 2013 Wayne moved to Houston and now regularly plays with others at an open picking every Wednesday at Hickory Hollow Restaurant on Heights Blvd.
Wayne loves Hank Williams, greens and cornbread, attending The Lighthouse of Houston, Cracker Barrel and singing and playing music whenever he can!
