Musica Tra Amici focuses on providing intimate chamber music performances in a relaxed, house party style environment.
This particular performance will feature the Brahms Horn Trio - composed in 1865 to commemorate the death of Brahms' mother who died earlier that year. As always, Musica Tra Amici is very proud to feature some of Houston's very own world-class artists to perform this very special trio. Musica Tra Amici founder/artistic director and Houston Symphony co-concertmaster, Eric Halen, will be joined by Houston Symphony principal hornist and Shepherd School of Music Professor, Bill VerMeulen, and world-class pianist and competition medalist, Mae Rui. Eric Halen and the artists will also share information and insight into the composer and the music with the audience to enhance the experience.
As always, following the performance, there will be a reception with a light buffet and complimentary wine where patrons can meet the performing artists and mingle with the other patrons.
