Jazz on Valentine's Concert
The most romantic alternative one could enjoy this Valentine’s Day—a musical aphrodisiac for mind, body, and soul.
There's no better place to take your date on February 14, 2020 than the MATCH, where jazz singer and songwriter Raquel Cepeda will host her fifth consecutive “Jazz on Valentine’s” concert. This annual Houston tradition plays to a consistently packed house, and has become an alluring trademark of Cepeda's ever-expanding artistry.
Cepeda is gaining international recognition since the release of her latest CD “Passion - Latin Jazz” last October 2019, as her album spent eight consecutive weeks at position #1 on the Top 50 Jazz Album chart, and was included as one of the top 2019 Jazz Albums by the Roots Music Report. Her album has enjoyed Top 20 placement on the Jazzweek Charts and has charted for 7 weeks on the NACC Latin Charts in the Top 5. The album’s sophisticated and sultry Latin jazz focus will be front and center at this year’s performance.
She will be joined on stage by the synergistic talents of pianist Barry Sames, bassist Thomas Helton, drummer Adriano Santos, percussionist Cassio Duarte, saxophonist Ernesto Vega, and trumpeter Felix de Leon.
From timeless standards like “Fever” and “I Put a Spell On You” to originals like “Little Gem,” Cepeda’s featured compositions and arrangements make known songs feel new and new songs feel timeless.
A concert centered on the message and the experience of love at its best, Jazz on Valentine’s is the most romantic alternative one could enjoy this Valentine’s Day—a musical aphrodisiac for mind, body, and soul.
